He was given this award January 26, 2012 at The Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The Kilgore College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be offering two hands-on QuickBooks courses this fall. Level 1 will be held Monday – Thursday, April 9 – 12 and Level 2 will be held Monday – Thursday, April 23 - 26. These courses will be offered from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Kilgore College-Longview, LH 105, located at 300 S. High Street in Longview. A certificate of completion will be presented to each student completing the courses and each student will receive Kilgore College CEU (continuing education units) credit for each course successfully completed.

Thursday, December 1, the Kilgore College SBDC is teaming up with the East Texas area Economic Development Corporations and Chambers of Commerce to bring the “East Texas Small Business Conference,” to Longview,with keynote speaker Drew Pearson - former Dallas Cowboy “Hail Mary” Wide Receiver. Over the course of his career, Drew Pearson caught 489 receptions for 7,822 yards and 48 touchdowns. He was a three-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection and led the NFC in 1976 with 58 catches. He is one of the Top 20 Pro Football All-Time Leading Receivers and was named to the 1970’s NFL Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team. He played in Super Bowls X, XII and XIII. While every Dallas Cowboy fan will have their favorite Pearson memory, none could stand out more than his “Hail Mary” touchdown reception from Staubach to beat the Vikings in the 1975 NFC Divisional Playoffs.
